Introduction

If you are looking for where to stay in Jordan, then you are at the right place because I have three hotels you should stay in. In my opinion, good accommodation is essential when travelling. Where you stay can completely change how you experience a country, how rested you feel, how safe you feel, and how much you enjoy your days. Over the years, my travel style has definitely evolved. Gone are the days when I was happily staying in £2.50 hostels in the Philippines LMAO. Today, I value comfort, good service and a peaceful place to return to after long days of exploring the destinations.

During my one week trip to Jordan, I stayed in three different hotels across Amman, Petra and Wadi Rum. If you’re planning a similar itinerary, this post will help you decide exactly where to stay in Jordan for comfort, location and unforgettable views.

About Jordan

Jordan is a beautiful Middle Eastern country known for its ancient history, stunning landscapes, and welcoming people. It is considered a young state occupying an ancient land that bears the traces of many civilisations. Separated from ancient Palestine by the Jordan River.

It is worth noting that the Jordanian dinar is the currency of Jordan and is the same as the pound. 1 pound is 1.12 dinar. I had anticipated living lavishly in Jordan, but was surprised that the currency was nearly 1 to 1, so I certainly was mindful of how much I spent.

Where to Stay in Jordan

Four Seasons, Amman

Where you stay in Jordan when you arrive is incredibly important because it sets the tone. I loved the hotels in Amman that we stayed in. When I arrived in Amman we stayed at the Four Seasons Amman, which was the perfect way to begin the trip.

The hotel is beautiful, elegant and incredibly peaceful, exactly what you need after travelling and preparing for busy sightseeing from early hours in the morning.

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed with both the service and the standard of the rooms.

If you’re travelling to Jordan as part of a group trip or simply enjoy a more luxurious stay, I would highly recommend this hotel. It’s a wonderful base in Amman and a great place to relax before heading out to explore the rest of Jordan.

Here is a map of the hotel in Amman, Jordan :

Mövenpick Resort, Petra

For Petra, we stayed at the Mövenpick Resort Petra, and would argue that it is a perfect location for where to stay in Jordan. Mövenpick Resort was easily one of the best location choices of the entire trip.

The hotel is located directly outside the entrance to Petra, which makes such a difference when arriving in Petra. If you’re planning an early start or visiting Petra over more than one day. After long hours of walking through the site, being able to walk straight back to your hotel is a real luxury.

If Petra is a key part of your Jordan itinerary, I would strongly recommend staying here overnight. The convenience alone makes it worth it, and it makes exploring Petra far more relaxed and enjoyable.

The Bubble Luxotel, Wadi Rum

The hotels in Wadi Rum are truly an unforgettable experience and was the best part of my trip, and staying at the Bubble Luxotel made the experience even more special. Can you imagine staying on the dessert but in a bubble!

From the moment I arrived, I absolutely loved it. The bubbles are beautifully designed and surprisingly spacious. They feature two doors and you’re advised to make sure the first door is completely closed before opening the second… otherwise the bubble might collapse.

Each bubble comes with:

  • a private hammock
  • a hot tub
  • floor-to-ceiling views of the desert

Waking up in the middle of Wadi Rum, surrounded by desert landscapes and open skies, was truly magical. If you’re visiting Wadi Rum, I cannot recommend this experience enough; it’s one of those stays you’ll remember for a lifetime. I would highly recommend staying at one of the hotels in Wadi Rum.
