Have you ever been to Pisa? Or you are considering travelling there for a couple of days. Well I’ve got good news for you. I have written out the ultimate travel guide for 2 days in Pisa and things to do in Pisa. Keep on reading for more.
I flew into Pisa because it was cheaper than flying to Florence, which was the ultimate star of the show. If you are visiting Pisa I would highly recommend also travelling to Florence too. You can travel to Pisa is more snap a photo at the Leaning Tower and then be on your way to Florence in the same day! Lol.
On a real though Pisa is an absolute Tuscan gem. I LOVED the charm, walking past large doors, colourful old streets and the riverside. If you’ve got just 2 days in Pisa, here’s the perfect itinerary to help you make the most of your trip.

Key Things to Know Before Your Pisa Travel

2 Days in Pisa Itinerary
There are so many things to do in Pisa that you will literally be spoilt for choice. Below is a detailed list of things to do and all the attractions in Pisa you will want to see.
Day 1 – Arrival & Evening in Pisa
I arrived in Pisa late in the evening, checked into my hotel, we stayed at the Hotel Roma, which was perfect for a family stay. You can book the stay here.
We dropped our bags and went for a walk along the Arno River. The city feels alive even at night, with people dining outside, strolling across bridges, and enjoying the easy pace of Tuscan life.
The Arno River runs through the centre of Pisa, and you’ll find several charming bridges and colourful buildings that make the perfect backdrop for a relaxed evening walk. After wandering, grab dinner at a local trattoria to settle into the city. Today can be a relaxing day tomorrow you will do more exploring.
Day 2 – Exploring Pisa
I like to start my mornings early when I travel so it was an early start for me. We was travelling in Pisa in October, but I knew there would be a lot of tourists out and and about and I wanted to see the true essence of the city. Below are a few attraction in Pisa.
Morning:
- The Leaning Tower of Pisa. This is Pisa’s most iconic attraction, and totally worth the hype! To be honest I’m surprised it not a World Wonder yet. I would highly recommend arriving early for fewer crowds and the best photos. You can also climb to the top for views of the city.
- Piazza dei Miracoli. Beyond the tower, this UNESCO World Heritage site includes the Cathedral and Baptistery, which are just as equally impressive.
Afternoon:
- Palazzo Blu. A brilliant little art museum featuring both modern and contemporary collections.
- San Matteo National Museum. Housed in a former monastery, this museum has beautiful Medieval and Renaissance art.
- University of Pisa area. I highly recommend a casual stroll here. It’s lively, authentic, and full of local spots to grab coffee or gelato.

I mentioned earlier, but for ease, I stayed at Hotel Roma, which is just 2 minutes from the train station and about 8 minutes from the Leaning Tower. We had considered an Airbnb in Pisa, but settled with a cute hotel. The location was super convenient for the things I wanted to do while in Pisa. But overall, two days in Pisa is just enough to enjoy the sights and get a feel for the city’s laid-back charm. It’s also a perfect starting point for a wider Tuscany trip and a budget-friendly gateway into Florence.
