And these are things to do in Kenya other than safari. So lets get into the top things to do in Kenya Nairobi that I actually did and loved.

10 Amazing Things to Do in Nairobi, Kenya
1. Safari in Nairobi National Park
Ok I know I am going to mention the Safari Nairobi National Park as one of the best things to do in Nairobi (I will ofc share other things). Can you believe a safari is in the city?! The game drive is one of the few places in the world where you can spot lions, giraffes, zebras, and rhinos with the city skyline in the background. You can book the same tour that I did here.
MBV Tip: Book a morning game drive for the best chance to see animals when they’re most active.
2. Visit the Giraffe Centre
Another favourite thing to do in Nairobi is to feed giraffes. It was easily one of the cutest moments of my trip. The Giraffe Centre is perfect for photos, fun facts, and getting up close with these gentle giants. You can feed them, but be mindful to wash your hands before and after visiting. You can book the same tour here.

3. David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage
If you love elephants like me, you can’t miss this. Every day at 11 am, baby elephants run in for feeding time, and it is the most cutest thing I’ve seen. They literally feed them like babies with a milk bottle. The orphanage rescues and rehabilitates elephants before releasing them back into the wild. You can book the same tour here.

4. Karura Forest & Waterfalls
Need a break from the busy city? Karura Forest is an oasis right in Nairobi. I hiked to the beautiful Karura Waterfall, spotted monkeys, and just enjoyed the peace and quiet. The waterfall is gorgeous and totally worth visiting. You can book it here.

5. Visit to a Maasai Village
On my birthday, I made a dream come true and spent a day at the Maasai village, where I learned about their traditions, dances, and way of life. They showed us how to make fire from sticks and even performed the famous jumping dance. It felt humbling and so special to connect with a culture I had never connected with before. You can book the tour here.

6. Nairobi Street Food Tour
This was one of my highlights of my trip, trying new foods and learning about the flavours and spices. Oh my, I tried smokies, bhajias, samosas, sugar cane juice, and so much more, all while walking through the city with my city guide. You can read more about it Kenyan Food Guide: Everything You Should Taste in Kenya.

7. Nightlife in Nairobi
Nairobi at night is an actual whole vibe. This is definitely one of those things to do in Kenya other than a safari LOL! I went out to The Alchemist because it was walking distance from my hotel at the Skynest Residences, and boy, did I dance the night away. The music was a mixture of Kenyan beats, Afrobeats and Amapiano. I loved it, and if you love nightlife, Nairobi will not disappoint. I did a quick reel and TikTok video, which you can watch here.
8. Local Restaurant Hopping
You know I made time to eat local Kenyan food. Here were my faves and what I ordered:
- K’osewe Westland: Coconut fish, chapati, goat meat and the local tamarind juice
- Mama Oliech: Fresh fish, plantain and fried goat meat
- Amacia Restaurant: Ugali, chapati, fried fish with peanut sauce

9. Afternoon Tea at Villa Rosa Kempinski
If you want a break from exploring, go luxe and book afternoon tea here. The afternoon team comes with scones, jam, cream, a variety of sandwiches, desserts and unlimited tea. I would say it was a beautiful setting after a busy day. You can book it here.

10. Carnivore Restaurant
The famous Carnivore, which is only in South Africa and Kenya, is for meat lovers and I mean meat lovers only! Here you will find unlimited skewers of chicken, beef, pork, ostrich, and even crocodile. They’ll keep serving until you lower the little flag on your table to signal “I’m full!” I will be doing a video on this, so stay tuned. I highly recommend doing this as one of the things to do in Kenya Nairobi.
