Restaurant Review: The Tiffany Blue Box Cafe at Harrods

By Posted on 1 719

Tiffany Blue Box Cafe at Harrods was absolutely divine. Who doesn’t love a cheeky brunch date with a close one, the girls or the babe?

I’ve been meaning to start writing restaurant reviews for a while now. Many have even asked, and I thought why not write one for my most recent brunch date with my Relationship and Lifestyle Blogger AliceTheeBlogger?

We had originally planned to go to Tiffany Blue Box Cafe to celebrate our birthdays. You know to celebrate the end of Virgo season *the best season in like the world – haha. Anyways, with life getting in the way, we didn’t end up going on the last day of Virgo Season, so just decided to go for our birthdays and call it a day. I reserved a slot with Open Table to ensure that I can start collecting my points.

First Impressions

If you know me you will know that I love the ambience of a restaurant. I love to be greeted accordingly, and I absolutely adore how a restaurant can make you almost feel like you’re away from reality. Going out to eat whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner should always be an experience from the minute you walk through the door.

My first impressions of the Tiffany Blue Box Cafe was how cute and small it was. It was just the place for a boogie little brunch.

I was greeted kindly by a waiter and ushered to my table after scanning the track and trace barcode.

Looking around you could see that they didn’t come to play with the theme. The cafe was covered in blue with blue and white plates and pure silver cutlery! It screamed Tiffany! The chairs were also comfortable and the atmosphere was aesthetically pleasing.

It was noted that we only had the table for 1.5 hours. Social distancing was observed accordingly with tables set 3 metres apart with all staff wearing masks.

The Menu at The Tiffany Blue Box

Time to peruse the menu! The menu wasn’t entirely clear for me to understand to begin with. It only had three options and didn’t really have the option to just have something small as a side order.

I was grateful when the waitress came out to explain the menu to us, which cleared things up a little. From memory, it looked like there were only three options with the cheapest being around £69 pounds. It included the following:

Sandwiches

  • The New York Salt Beef – with pickles and mustard, white pain de mie
  • English Cucumber & Pink Peppercorn – with Dill mascarpone, white pain de mie
  • Smoked Salmon – with lemon and chive cream cheese, wholemeal bread
  • Egg & Black Truffle – with Black truffle butter, white pain de mie
  • Warm Parmesan Madeleine – with sour cream, caviar and chives

Sweets

  • Times Square Dark Chocolate Cake
  • Summer Berry Tart
  • A crisp tart shell filled with red fruit compote and crème patisserie, Tiffany Blue Egg
  • Lemon curd and Mascarpone cheese mouse in the original Tiffany’s blue colour inspired by the Robin’s Egg

Service

I would say the service was a 4 out of 5. We were first asked what drinks we would like to drink. I asked for a hot chocolate as I don’t like tea or coffee! My friend ordered a latte. The staff were somewhat friendly, with smiles. They paid particular attention to my friend’s daughter which I loved. The starter was quickly severed with our afternoon tea set shortly after.

The Food at Tiffany Blue Box

I was a little hesitant about the food, to be honest. I am always hesitant about decor and food going hand in hand, but I have to say the food was delicious. Afternoon tea is always a good choice.

The starter was a prawn cocktail which satisfied my taste buds. It was crisp and creamy.

Then there were sandwiches. I wasn’t entirely pleased with the meat beef one but that might be because of my fussy taste buds.

The sweet desserts were an absolute delight with a selection of cakes and treats. The Tiffany egg-shaped egg was my absolute fave.

Finally, the scones – with real strawberry jam and clotted cream, finished me off nicely. I wasn’t able to finish everything so was really pleased when they packed it in a Harrods box for me to take home.

Photography

Below you will find some pictures of the dishes, table setting, decor and of me – of course! The Tiffany Blue Box Cafe is the place for Instagram lovers, food photographers and anyone that just loves a cute little brunch date.

Just outside the restaurant, there was a space to take pictures in the blue styled Tiffany box, which I think is soo cute. Lucky for us it wasn’t busy at all – I presume due to COVID19.

Final thoughts…

Overall, I very much enjoyed my experience at the Tiffany Blue Box Cafe. The service was good and the food was even better. I mentioned earlier that my friend brought her 6-month-old daughter, which was absolutely fine. The staff were extremely accommodating to everyone.

It certainly is the place to go for a birthday trip, but for the price, I don’t think I would be going every other day. You know £79 is one week’s shopping! However, a one-off treat to Tiffany is always good for the soul. What about you would you go?

A Day with MBV in Berlin

Are you enjoying my series? Don’t know what it is? Then read here – Series: A Day with MBV…

I hope you all enjoyed my first ‘A Day with MBV in Prague’. As it’s my birthday month (yes I tend to go on about my Birthday for the whole month). I thought it would be good to do a little throwback and share my next Series special – ‘A Day with MBV in Berlin’. I went to Berlin on my first solo trip almost three years ago!

I enjoyed visiting Berlin because like Prague it was a short flight from London. A very much needed holiday after a breakup. I didn’t have much money, so a cheap flight to Berlin was a good escape from all the expectations and disappointments I had been receiving.

It was my first real solo trip, which I booked via Skyscanner for less than £20! I didn’t really know what I was doing, honestly – I kind of went with the flow, which looking back was a good thing.

So, what did I do in just one day?

I started by getting a travel card. The Berlin Welcome Card gets you around the entire city. Berlin is divided into the fare zones A, B and C as I only went into the city, I got the cheapest ticket for the day.

Berlin Wall

First stop – I had always wanted to go and see the famous Berlin wall. I love street art, so when I got there, I was quite excited. Why? Because I managed to get there all by myself. This was a big deal for me as a first-time solo traveller. Up until then, I felt like I was entirely reliant on others to get me to the next location, being able to do this by myself reassured me that I can do anything.

The Berlin Wall was a guarded concrete barrier that physically and ideologically divided Berlin from 1961 to 1989.

Cost – £0.00

Brandenburg Gate

Second stop – It was quite a warm day on my Birthday, so I was content with walking through the city. From what I remember, it seemed like most of the attraction were all very close by. I stumbled at the Brandenburg Gate and of course, took some pictures!

The Brandenburg Gate is an 18th-century neoclassical monument in Berlin, built on the orders of Prussian king Frederick William II after the successful restoration of order during the early Batavian Revolution.

Cost – £0.00

Reichstag Building

Third stop – Again, another building, which was very close by. I remember taking some time out to sit in the park and just chill and just think about what I had learnt. I was turning 25 on this trip, and I had felt that I hadn’t reached the milestones my mother had expected me to achieve. Most importantly, I can say that it was here I did my best to try and still continue to live for myself.

The Reichstag is a historic edifice in Berlin, Germany, constructed to house the Imperial Diet of the German Empire.

Cost – £0.00

Berlin Cathedral Church

Fourth stop – Once I had finished my reflection, I headed over to this beautiful church. I didn’t go inside, but I did take some pictures from the outside.

Berlin Cathedral is the common name for the Evangelical Supreme Parish and Collegiate Church in Berlin, Germany.

Cost – £0.00

I finished my trip with a glass of wine, German sausage with some chips. I left the city early because I couldn’t miss my flight. Travelling solo for the first time can make you very cautious about absolutely everything!

Now I have travelled more I would someday love to go back to Berlin and explore it in more detail. I hoped you enjoyed my small throwback and thank you for taking the time out to have a read!

Can you remember your first solo trip? Let us know in the comments below.

Where Dreams Come True: My Experience at Disneyland Paris

Although I’ve done Disneyland in Tokyo, I still had an urge to do Disneyland in Paris. I love all things Disney like and I thought the best time and only time to go ahead and act like a BIG KID was my BIRTHDAY!

I had also seen Michelle Travels go to Disneyland and it looked absolutely amazing!

Did Disneyland live up to my expectations?

Course, it did! Disneyland in Paris is very different from Disneyland in Tokyo. I went to Disneyland in Paris during the day and Disneyland Tokyo in the evening so they made a huge difference.

When you walk into the park, you get a real sense beautiful warmth of positivity. This is a fantastic feeling to have on your birthday.

As it was my birthday, I was allowed to choose which park we went too. I prefered the park with the castle. We got there around 4.30 pm. There are a number of shuttle buses for the parks (which are free). We got there in good time for the parade, which I loved every single minute of it.

Welcome to Disneyland in Paris

Disneyland Paris consists of two parks, Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park. Disneyland Park is the park everybody has heard of and should go to – it has the castle. Walt Disney Studios Park, on the other hand, has a more general moviemaking theme, but it’s still very Disney. Everything looked and felt terrific. I was dressed for the occasion as always – like Mickey Mouse.

These are so many attractions within the park, including the following:

  • Alice’s Curious Labyrinth
  • Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups
  • Sleeping Beauty’s Castle
  • Discovery Arcade. And more…

See below for the photos:

There are six Disney resorts in California, Florida, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong, and China with a total of twelve parks. These are Walt Disney World Resort (Florida) (Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Animal Kingdom) Disneyland Resort (California) (Disneyland, California Adventure)!

Have you ever been to Disneyland? Let me know in the comments below. If you follow me on my Instagram, you would have seen my video experience at Disneyland.

Still, have more questions? Wait a couple more days. I have a breakdown of how I went to Disneyland and Paris in just 3 days.

Turn Your ‘Birthday Into A Lifestyle With These Tips

Traditions can be a right drain, especially those that hinder your growth or those that you simply don’t enjoy. Every year my mother made an effort for my birthday- as kind as it was. It usually involved some sort of birthday party with people I didn’t like or care about. For that reason, I, in the past, have always hated celebrating my birthday. I would be forced to wear some fancy dress where I would be forced to sit and look pretty!

For my 21st I decided to change this tradition and celebrate my birthday travelling – the one thing I love doing!

Drake said it first, “Turn Your Birthday into a Lifestyle”. I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of Drake, but when Char from MemoirandMusing– mentioned the lyric to me I recognised I had already been doing it for 8 years! Yes, that’s right, since my 21st Birthday, I have made an effort to book a flight for my birthday. These are the countries I have been too so far:

Spain Age 22

I’m sure you already know that I spent my 28th Birthday this year at Disney Land Paris with le bae! See the pictures below:

I’ve always believed that you should always do things you enjoy for your birthday and I have recognised that travelling is something I love to do, so why not do it for my birthday? Since it’s my B-Day Week still ( BIG UP TO MY FELLOW VIRGO QUEENS AND KINGS!! ) I figured I’d share my top tips on how to turn your birthday into a lifestyle!

6 way on how to turn your birthday into a lifestyle

Plan ahead

And give your job notice that you’ll be taking your birthday off. Don’t! I repeat, don’t go to work on your birthday! You shouldn’t be going to work on your birthday! You should be catching a flight or already abroad. The only way to do this is by planning well ahead – I mention this in a previous blog post, particularly on my post – Make It A Habit To Visit A New Country Yearly.

You are supposed to enjoy yourself on your birthday! If you love your job then, by all means, go to work, but as a travel blogger doesn’t it make more sense spoiling yourself to a holiday on your birthday? Of course, so book that flight!

Splurge

Don’t be afraid to splurge it’s your birthday for crying out loud! Let your birthday be the one day a year when you’re allowed to partake in ONE thing that you’ve been saying no too.
Obviously, this won’t work if it’s a significant addition to something terrible, like alcohol or smoking, but sometimes this can work wonders. Allow someone to treat you to something beautiful or better yet treat your damn self!

Book that flight

As I said before, I have travelled every year for my birthday, and I tend to try and go somewhere new if I can! Well except this year and Nigeria – I mention this in a post where I write why It’s So Important To Visit/ Go Back Home

And it is easy to go away for your birthday! Even if it’s the only time, you travel in the year! Let it be for your birthday! It goes back to my first point, plan ahead = book your flight well ahead of your birthday, that way you have something to look forward to for your birthday.

Do what you want

I know I make a big fuss about travelling abroad for your birthday, but you honestly don’t have to! Do what you want to do for your birthday. Do you enjoy going to the spa? Or simply just not celebrating it all? Then do these things! You don’t have to do something to please others do it for yourself.

I can’t keep reminding you – that it’s your birthday you are entitled to do exactly what you want!

Sleep well the night before

I’m not one to share when I’m flying out, but this time I think I can as I’ve already flown out! I flew out two day’s before my birthday and knew that I was going to need all the rest I can get. My birthday is always abroad, and it usually involves lots of excitement, which can be extremely exhausting! So be sure to get some rest before your travels.

Try something new

Other than travelling, I must admit that I do enjoy a good meal. I love trying out new types of food the craziest I’ve tried is duck feet and shark! Not something I will be eating again, but I think on your birthday you should try something new.

So now I have shared my top tips on how to turn your birthday into a lifestyle. Tell me how do you plan to spend your next birthday?

Birthday Reflections: Five Life Rules I Will Be Living By This Year.

Where the heck did this year go? I feel like we should now be heading into summer, yet my birthday is already here! Don’t get me wrong… I absolutely love it and will be gladly embracing this wonderful opportunity to celebrate. In honour of it being my Birthday, I thought it would be fun to take some time today to have some Birthday reflections on all that I’ve done (and wanted to do this year), what I’ve learned and how I want to go ahead with my new age.

1. Be Selfish To Your Own Needs

This year, I have enjoyed myself, I have gone to Coachella, taken up opportunities and have more or less enjoyed my summer! However, I have spent a lot of time helping the help and the needy and have been heavily disappointed after offering my assistance.  In this new age, I have learnt to be selfish to my own needs and look after number one at all times – because if you don’t, who will?

2. Listen To Your Intuition

Listening to your intuition has been a KEY factor for this year. In my birthday reflections I have recognised that the people close to me have told me one thing, but my intuition has told me to go with how I feel and just like that I am always proven right!

Don’t underestimate your intuition, but don’t make the wrong choices when you feel something.

3. Hold yourself accountable for your actions

I have seen so many people blame others for the situations they are currently in. Of course, I understand people make mistakes, but what I will say is remind yourself why you are where you are today. Was it a decision you decided to make – hold yourself accountable and certainly don’t expect anyone to come and save you!

4. Ask for what you want, and be prepared to get it

Every year it gets closer to my birthday I also make time to analyse myself, my accomplishments for the year. Looking at what you have achieved in the last year can be hard sometimes especially if you haven’t fulfilled all your hopes and dreams. If you believe in God, then you know that everything is on his time and not your own. Be patient and know that it is coming.

5. Be Happy – Nothing Is Ever Too Late

Be happy and recognise you are exactly where you need to be in life.
