This is for anyone planning a trip to Albania this summer then you have come to the right place. It has stunning coastline, amazing food and the people are so kind. And it’s so affordable too.
You’ve probably heard of Vlorë, it’s right on the cost and is such a laid-back seaside city where the Adriatic meets the Ionian Sea. During my solo adventure through the Balkans, I decided to stay at the Nobus Hotel and Spa, and honestly, it was exactly the kind of rest I needed. It is a 4* hotel infused with Japanese and modern influences perfect for a wellness retreat.
One thing that led me to booking this hotel was seeing a Black woman model at the hotel. It’s always about the little things and this spoke to me. Nobus Hotel and Spa in Vlorë, Albania, Hotel Review
Nobus Hotel and Spa hotel is located right on the main boulevard by the beach in Vlorë. And it’s one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. (Let me know if you would like to know the best hotels I’ve stayed in and I will write a post on this.) The hotel has stunning views of the water, mountains and an infinity pool, easy walks to traditional restaurants and cafés.

For solo travellers like me, location matters, and this one ticked all the boxes: walkable, safe, and incredibly scenic. I loved being able to stroll out for dinner or grab a coffee on the promenade within minutes.
The Rooms
At the Nobus Hotel and Spa. I stayed in a Deluxe Double Room with the Sea View, and the views were absolutely stunning. The room was bright, spotless, and modern, with a large bed, a mini-fridge, robes, and a sleek walk-in shower. The is a clear window for the showers so be mindful to shut down the blinds if travelling with others.
There was also a balcony where I could see private pools and the infinity pool.
Breakfast and The Restaurant
Breakfast was included and served buffet-style with a mix of continental and Balkan offerings. It included, eggs, pastries, fruit, cold cuts, and coffee. Nothing fancy, but solid enough to fuel a beach day.
They also use the same restaurant for food throughout the day. Although I mostly ate out, I stayed in one night and got the classic seafood pasta with their still water. I think the water came directly from the mountains because it was the most crisp freshest water I have ever had. Vlorë has some great local spots for fresh seafood, the seabass is so good and pizza, all super affordable! I would say this is one of the most budget friendly European trips I have travelled to in a long time.
Service and Hospitality
The staff were warm and super professional. Check-in was seamless, and they kindly helped with taxis and gave local recommendations for the beach tours and took pictures of me by the pool. All the staff spoke great English and made me feel very safe and welcome as a solo female traveler.
Price and Value
I paid around £170 per night, which is excellent value for a beachfront spa hotel in Europe. For what you get location, spa access, sea view it honestly felt like a steal.

The Nobus Hotel and Spa in Volrë is perfect for solo travellers, couples, or anyone who wants a chic, relaxing stay without the hefty price tag. It’s clean, modern, well-located, and that spa is a game-changer. I would highly recommend staying here if you are ever in Albania.
