Introduction

I think it’s clear that I travel for food, right? Travelling is and continues to be a big part of who I am. After Cooking Travel Talks I think I have earned my title as a travel foodie! Not to mention after travelling to over 60 countries, where I can now say that I have come to note a few of my favourite restaurants around the world. And today I am going to share them with you.

I may even say that the restaurants below are among the best in the world. In my opinion, at least.

Food has a way of anchoring memories when you travel. I always think that one day, I might forget the exact route I took or the hotel room number I stayed in, but one thing I’ll always remember is the flavours. The service, atmosphere, and how present I felt sitting at a table somewhere far from home.

As a frequent and avid solo traveller, food is one of the main ways I connect with culture and people. Over the years, I’ve eaten in many restaurants across the world, and these are the restaurants around the world that have stood out for me. Not because they were all flashy or famous, but because each one left a lasting impression. They showed me that there are real flavours around the world, similarities with food, and that there is beauty everywhere you go! Through food.

These are some of my favourite restaurants around the world. The restaurants that I would return to again and again without hesitation.

Noya in Pristina, Kosovo

Noya was one of those places that immediately fell in love with. It’s on the 21st floor, so it has the most beautiful views at night, serving Pan-Asian cuisine. The restaurant is in a hotel called Derand Hotel.

The restaurant is tucked away in Pristina, Kosovo and it felt like an intimate, calm, and intentional kind of restaurant where the food speaks for itself. It has the restaurant side and a bar club side where you can order both drinks and food.

I ordered prawn tempura, dragon sushi, lamb chops, and seabass, and everything was genuinely delicious. It was a nice contrast to the traditional dishes we’d been eating, while still being very well executed. If you’re visiting Pristina, this is a place I’d recommend not just for the food, but for the atmosphere and the feeling of being fully present while dining there.

Mr Fisher in Pristina, Kosovo

Mr Fisher was another standout meal in Pristina, and completely different in tone from Noya, which is exactly why it left such an impression. The restaurant is in a hotel called Hotel Diamond.

The restaurant is focused on seafood hence the name Mr Fisher. The experience felt refined yet relaxed. I ordered the seven-course Fish Set Menu, which included fish soup, a prawn cocktail, a salmon, seabass and much more. Each course felt deliberate, allowing the quality of the fish to shine without being overcomplicated.

What I loved most about Mr Fisher was the aquarium-style restaurant setting, which added to the experience and reinforced the restaurant’s focus on freshness and craft. It felt immersive, considered, and quietly confident, a place that knows exactly what it’s doing.

Morena Peruvian Kitchen in Cusco, Peru 🇵🇪

Peru is a country where food is taken seriously, and Morena Peruvian Kitchen reflects that beautifully.

The presentation of the dishes at Morena Peruvian Kitchen is a work of art. Each plate is a canvas showcasing Peruvian ingredients’ vibrancy and diversity, making every course a feast for the eyes. I ordered the Ceviche, Arroz Con Mariscos, Cacao and the drink Pisco Sour.

The flavours were bold, vibrant, and layered in a way that felt both traditional and modern. This wasn’t rushed dining; it was intentional, celebratory, and deeply rooted in Peruvian culture. If you love food that feels alive and culturally grounded, this is a restaurant that stays with you long after you leave.

Rotacioni restoran Sky 360 in Zlatibor, Serbia 🇷🇸

There’s something quietly charming about The Revolving Door. It’s a 360-degree rotating restaurant that serves delicious cocktails and food. I ordered the lamb with mashed potatoes and plums (which is a speciality in Serbia). The restaurant is in a hotel called Hotel Tornik (Zlatibor).

Eating there felt grounding while travelling through Serbia. Warm, familiar, and unpretentious, it reminded me that some of the best meals aren’t about novelty, but about consistency and care. I was able to watch the restaurant move as I ate, which was a very new experience for me.

L’Atelier Windsor in Luxembourg 🇱🇺

L’Atelier Windsor was one of those rare Michelin-starred experiences that completely lived up to the hype. The dishes were beautifully plated, but never felt like style over substance. The food was genuinely exceptional.

I ordered the “Le Poisson Noble du Moment”, which was cooked perfectly and balanced with precision. For dessert, they served an upside-down tart with fresh cream, simple on paper, but flawless in execution. It was one of those meals where you sit back afterwards and think, yes, that was absolutely worth it. Like worth every penny.

Salma’s in Lagos, Nigeria 🇳🇬

Salma’s in Lagos a Lebanese restaurant that is full of flavour. It was a mixture of different small plates as we were sharing. Dining there felt social, vibrant, and indulgent in the best way. Lagos has an incredible food scene, and Salma’s stands out as somewhere that understands how to create both great food and a memorable moment. It’s not just a restaurant, it’s an experience that captures the spirit of the city.

Kong in Paris, France 🇫🇷

Kong is one of those Paris restaurants that feels instantly iconic. Set beneath a dramatic glass ceiling, the space itself is unforgettable, modern, bold, and unmistakably Parisian. .

I ordered the duck, which was rich, beautifully cooked, and deeply satisfying, the kind of dish that reminds you why French cuisine is so respected. Everything about the experience felt polished but not cold, stylish without being pretentious.

Kong is the kind of place you go when you want food, atmosphere, and memory all wrapped into one. A restaurant that stays with you long after you leave Paris.

CÉ LA VI in Singapore 🇸🇬

CÉ LA VI is one of those places that delivers on everything: views, atmosphere, and food. Set high above the city, being on the 57th floor. The restaurant offers one of the most iconic dining experiences in Singapore. But what I appreciated most is that the food doesn’t rely on the view to carry it; it genuinely holds its own. I had a chicken salad and the apperol spritz.
