How Happy Are You?

I loved this quote because it seems like everyone is doing everything to tick of a grocery list,  rather than asking the simple question? How happy are you?

Am I happy?

It’s scary; everyone in this world is living and surviving for this simple fact, that we have no other choice but to live. So many people are living for fame, for popularity, for friendship and to simply be accepted, which is honestly a shame. I ask you are you happy with this lifestyle and how long do you think you can keep this lifestyle up? Most of the key motivational speakers will say that – “Materialistic things cannot buy happiness”, yet so many young people, (except a few) I see around myself are trying to hunt for this happiness in these very things, but even those few have yet succeeded into finding their own happiness? Why is this? Why are you not happy with the life you already have? What is it that you are missing in your life that will make you truly happy with where you are?

What does happy mean?

I recently did a search on Oxford dictionary for the true meaning of “Happy” the answer was “Feeling or showing pleasure or contentment

It’s a pretty straight forward meaning don’t you think? When we express feelings of pleasure or contentment from ourselves, it means we are happy. How often do you feel like this? Do you feel like something is missing? Does your happiness come from natural things or do you have to have materialistic things to show the world that you are happy? When you realise that is all you have to offer is the latest designer, doesn’t that bother you? It will most certainly bother me if people didn’t see me for who I am rather than my social status. People like that no longer exist in my life thank God. Why because people don’t realise all this stuff fades away and when you are away from this world, you remove yourself from the lies and fake that people portray to the world.

Two weeks ago I decided, I needed a break from the social media world; I needed to recognise that I was blessed and happy within myself. Now don’t get me wrong I knew all this already, sometimes I think you can get stuck in this world and see what everyone else has, things you don’t have and think to yourself if I had these things I might just be happy.

No.

You should be happy with where your life is and where it is going; if you don’t like where it is and where it is going you most definitely need to consider changing it. It might be simple things like, your attitude, the people around you, your environment – the list goes on but the first step is recognising that you need to find happiness within yourself.

I am no expert in telling people how to live their lives and finding happiness and I most certainly still have things I need to change about myself, nevertheless I can honestly say I have never been so happy in a long time with myself. I know myself and the people I have around me. They are genuine people with good hearts. I feel that my life can only go upwards from here and I truly believe that. Of course there will be hiccups along the way, but I know with the strength of God, I will overcome any issue that comes my way.

Life is very simple; sometimes we just over complicate life so much. I am a huge victim of this. Yes there will be problems, they will be hard times, but look around you, and recognise there are many things in life to appreciate.

The problem with all of us is, we try to look for happiness in others, and rather, we ourselves should be the very source of happiness. We have to fill our souls spiritually and mentally happy and completely move on with life without any expectations from others. Don’t expect but give and go on and have a little faith, happiness will come back to you in many ways you can’t imagine!

Just remember life isn’t a grocery list, life is for living and as I will always say “you must live your best life”

What does happiness mean to you? Have you found your own happiness?

:):)

AmeriKKKa | 90s Baby Show

I went to the Black Lives Matter March. For me it was fresh and on my mind – listen to me discuss the issues that are happening still in 2016! “It ain’t safe in AmeriKKKa, as matter of fact it ain’t safe in most places in the world for black people.

Why don’t we just go back to Africa where we are the majority and accepted?
Must be like or enjoy what’s happening to us right?

THEY keep saying All Lives Matter, but black ones clearly don’t. What people need to understand is Black Lives Matter is not created to make one race feel more superior than another. its actually a battle for equality.

In this episode we draw on some memorable speeches and interviews from the past and give our own take on things with Guest from here and America

How confused we are.
How annoyed we are.
How stressed we are.
How scared we are.

But we are sure God has a plan. Will non-violent protests help, will violent protests make things worse.

We pose the question: Riot or March? is it time to pick up a sign or pick up a Brick and launch it through the nearest shop window?

There has to be a light at the end of this racist tunnel. Making our lives better will not make THEIR lives worse”

Blogger Spotlight: Adebola of MyBreakingViews| Black British Bloggers

See original article here – Blogger Spotlight: Adebola of MyBreakingViews

Introducing Adebola of MyBreakingViews…

Tell us a bit about yourself and your blog.

I am MyBreakingViews and I love stating an opinion, so when it came to creating a blog I knew I would find it easy to talk about political issues that surround us as a society because it changes all the time. I also loooove travelling! I’ve done over 30 places around the world and I have sought to share that with people.

I recently started my YouTube channel also called MyBreakingViews (subscribe). I have a huge passion for helping people and letting everyone state their views. I believe in using MyBreakingViews as a platform for opinions to be shared!

When did you start blogging and what motivated you to start?

I originally started a blog three years ago on my travels as I did a study exchange in Singapore and travelled all over South East Asia. However I felt like this was common so decided to start a blog on political and social justice issues that I felt young people needed to know about.

I have since grown and realised there are so many other avenues that I could explore, like my faith (I’m a born again Christian), my travels and just my life.

How has your blog evolved since starting your blogging journey?

Oh wow. This is a question I had to really think about. I can definitely say I have grown as a person. I started on Blogger – I had no idea about blogging, editing or even like headers, footers, URL. I was lucky that my boyfriend at the time was a graphic designer and he did sort me out but then I stopped because I just felt like I wasn’t putting my all into it.

I now use WordPress and GoDaddy as my host, I actually spent money because I knew I would take it seriously once I payed up. I am so glad I made that decision. The support I have received has been amazing and I am constantly growing and learning new things everyday, trust me.

What has been the most challenging part about running a blog?

I would say the most challenging aspect of running a blog is staying consistent! It is so hard especially when it’s cold and life gets in the way. I just found myself making excuses because I didn’t know what to write.

I learnt the best way to keep on top of my writing was to write on my phone especially when I am constantly on the move. In fact this influenced me to start my YouTube channel because I knew I could share my opinions on another scale and widen my platform with another skill.

What’s your favourite post/s and why?

I love my posts on my very own political views but due to my area of work I have had to take a step back and find other ways to grow MyBreakingViews as a brand. I would say my fave posts now are about my travelling because I am sharing my own experiences.

Where do you see yourself and your blog in five years’ time?

This puts me on the spot! Where do I start? I have connected my blog with my YouTube channel and I hope to actually be able to use the two to talk about political issues and real life social issues that affect our community, I don’t what it to just be my views, I want it to be all of your views too.

In a nutshell, I want MyBreakingViews to become a social political platform, a news channel and a website to talk about travel, lifestyle, politics, makeup and ministry! Amen!

Do you have any bloggers you admire and follow yourself?

Yes I mean where do I start lol! I really love Christian bloggers like Wunms and also Shirley B because she helps me tap into my girly side.

Your blog centres around your personal opinions on politics as well as travel. Do you have any advice for bloggers who want to do something similar?

Yes, be you. Don’t be afraid to talk about your views! When I write about social political issues, I would sometimes think about what other people would think and it was only when someone set me straight and asked me what is MyBreakingViews. It is my view! When you have to say something, do not worry about what people think. It’s what you think, it’s is your own Breaking View!

In terms of travel, I say it in my posts – travel! Travel somewhere new every year and talk about your experiences because everyone’s experience is always different. Other than that stay consistent, enjoy the journey and enjoy the growth.

What are your hopes for the Black British Blogging community?

That we get bigger and greater. We have so much to say as black people and I absolutely live for it and love it! Black people face barriers on a day to day basis and I love when bloggers/YouTubers use their platforms to talk about these things.
