Introduction

I’ve got travel day trip ideas series starting today just for you! Before we dive into the logistics of all these day trips and what they entail. Let me just say this. I hope August is a fruitful, peaceful, and joy-filled month for every single one of you.

Can you believe it’s already been two weeks since I relaunched MyBreakingViews? Relaunching the site has been a whirlwind of emotions: excitement, gratitude, a little bit of stress, but mostly, joy. The outpouring of support has been overwhelming in the best way. Thank you for every comment, share, and DM. Your support means the world.

And now that we’re settling into a new chapter for MBV, I wanted to start something brand new a series that speaks to one of the ways I truly travel and how I want to help you experience the world, one day at a time.

Let me officially welcome you to…

Here are some day trips to Europe from London you can check out – 7 Extraordinary European Day Trips from London (2026)

A Day with MBV: Your New Favourite Series

I’ve been travelling a lot lately. Some of these trips have been long-haul journeys across continents, and others? Just quick day trips to nearby gems both abroad and right here in the UK. I’ve realised something beautiful about how much you can actually do in just one day.

That’s what this new series is all about: A Day with MBV will take you through my 24-hour adventures from city breaks like Prague and Copenhagen to countryside escapes like Hitchin Lavender Farm or day hikes in Scotland.

And trust me, some of the best memories I’ve ever made have come from these short and sweet trips. You don’t always need a 10-day itinerary or a huge budget to explore. Sometimes, all you need is a plan, a cute little handbag, and a bit of curiosity.

Why Day Trips?

It’s funny how day trips have completely changed the way I see travel, they are useful and they are so cost efficient when you are travelling Europe ofc.

  1. They’re affordable – You don’t need flights and hotels to escape. A quick train ride or a 1 or 2 hour plane and a bit of planning can open up an entirely new world.
  2. They’re doable – For those of us working full-time, studying, or juggling a million things (yes me), squeezing in a full-blown trip isn’t always easy. But a Saturday or Sunday adventure? That’s possible.
  3. They’re empowering – Especially as a solo traveller. There’s something about waking up, deciding to explore somewhere new, and being back home by evening that builds a quiet kind of confidence.
  4. They open doors – Day activities are also an amazing way to meet new people. Whether it’s a group hike, a food tour, or a cooking class these moments help you build community around the world.

What Inspired This Series

Honestly? You. MyBreakingViews community. And being able to see Black people doing day trips. Because why shouldn’t you take day trips to Europe from London?

Over the years, so many of you have asked me:
“How do you plan your trips?”
“Where do you find the time?”
“Is it safe to go there solo?”

And while I love sharing in-depth travel guides and long-haul itineraries, I also wanted to show you the smaller moments also count. The ones that don’t always make it to Instagram but still mean everything.

Most of these trips are things I’ve booked on a whim sometimes with friends, other times alone and often through amazing platforms like @TravelEatSlay and @BTravelCreators. They’ve built beautiful Black travel communities, and I genuinely recommend following them if you want to be part of group trips, meetups, or last-minute getaways.

Anyways, all these activities got me thinking; how can I share my days with you all? Where you can ask questions to build your travel knowledge, and most importantly, enjoy the travel with me!

What Can You Expect in the A Day with MBV Series?

This series is designed to inspire and inform you to travel. To take that step with no more excuses. Whether you’re planning your next adventure or simply dreaming about one, here’s what each post will include:

A Realistic Itinerary

I’ll walk you through my day trips from where I went, how I got there, what time I left, what I packed, and how long everything took. This isn’t some Pinterest-perfect fantasy. This is real travel, the way I actually do it. And you can too.

Cost Breakdown

How much did the train ticket cost? The coach. Was the food affordable? Like what is your budget for your day trips? Were there entry fees? I’ll give you an honest breakdown of what you might expect to spend. I’m all about transparency when it comes to MyBreakingViews.

Where to Eat

As you know, food is a huge part of how I travel. I’ll share my meals, snacks, cafes, and the must-try dishes of the day. Whether it’s a £2 pastry from a local bakery or a fancy rooftop brunch, I’ve got you covered. Read: 5 Amazing European Destinations for Food Lovers

Key MBV Moments

You’ll also get my personal highlights those little moments that made the trip special. It could be a kind conversation with a stranger, an unexpected scenic view, or just the peace that comes from getting lost in a new place.

Solo Travel Tips

As always, I’ll add notes for my solo travellers especially Black women about safety, accessibility, language barriers, and anything else I noticed during the trip.

Surprises & Freebies

Every now and then, I’ll be giving away day trip vouchers, discounts, or downloadable itineraries. So make sure you’re subscribed to my mailing list. You never know when your inbox might bless you!

Quick Tips for Planning Your Own Day Trip

If you’re ready to start taking your own day trips, here are a few tips I live by:

  1. Start Super Early – If you want to see a lot in a single day, aim to leave before 6 AM. You’ll avoid crowds and get better lighting for those photo ops.
  2. Use Google Maps + Maps.me – Download your route offline. You’ll thank me when your data disappears in the middle of nowhere.
  3. Pack Smart – A mini bag with your ID, a charger, hand wipes, SPF, and a reusable water bottle will go a long way.
  4. Join a Group Tour – Platforms like GetYourGuide or Viator and EatWith are gold mines for interesting one-day activities. Or better yet join community-based groups like TravelEatSlay for something more personal.
  5. Don’t Overpack Your Schedule – Leave space to wander, nap in the sun, or chat to locals. The best travel moments are often the unexpected ones.

First Up in the Series: A Day with MBV in Prague

My first post in this series will take you through one of my favourite European cities: Prague and then Ireland, Italy, Croatia and much more.

Make sure you’re subscribed here so you don’t miss it!

Final Views on Day Trips from London, England

This series isn’t just about showing you where I go it’s about helping you believe that you can do it too. You can take so many day trips from London, England and just hop on a train or book that flight. Take day trips to Europe from London.
